Stage 0101
Brief & read.
A long conversation, then a long write-up. By the end of this stage, we know what you want better than you do.
Duration / 1 day
- [ 01 ]A 60–90 minute kickoff call. No agenda template, no slide deck.
- [ 02 ]Read of every piece of context you can send — old work, decks, emails, the brief itself.
- [ 03 ]A counter-brief, written by us — what we heard, what we’d push on, what would make it interesting.
- [ 04 ]A first cut at scope, timeline, and the shape of a quote.
Stage 0202
Direction.
Mood, references, sketches, structure. The point where the project becomes a thing instead of a sentence.
Duration / 1—2 days
- [ 01 ]A 12–20 page direction document with point of view, not just options.
- [ 02 ]Hand sketches and reference frames — sometimes 30 of them, sometimes 3.
- [ 03 ]A proposed structure for the final piece, scene-by-scene or section-by-section.
- [ 04 ]One round of structured feedback, then we lock direction and don’t look back.
Stage 0303
Make & iterate.
The bulk of the work. Asset by asset, frame by frame, with weekly check-ins so nothing drifts.
Duration / 2—4 days
- [ 01 ]Weekly Loom or async video review showing the actual work, in the actual state.
- [ 02 ]A shared folder you can open at any time to see what’s being made.
- [ 03 ]Two structured rounds of revision baked into the timeline — anything beyond is rare and discussed.
- [ 04 ]A “week 3” checkpoint where we stop and decide whether the direction is still right.
Stage 0404
Polish.
The 10% that takes 50% of the time. Color, sound, micro-detail, the kerning of a single title card.
Duration / 1—2 days
- [ 01 ]A pass dedicated to nothing but color & tone.
- [ 02 ]A pass dedicated to nothing but sound & pacing.
- [ 03 ]A pass dedicated to micro-detail — one shot at a time, all the way through.
- [ 04 ]A final “cold viewing” — we don’t look at the file for 48 hours, then watch it once with fresh eyes.
Stage 0505
Ship & archive.
Final delivery in every format you need, plus a bound archive of the project — the whole conversation.
Duration / 1 day
- [ 01 ]Master files in every format, codec, and aspect ratio in your spec.
- [ 02 ]A bound PDF archive: brief, sketches, alts, key decisions, credits.
- [ 03 ]Source files (project files, scenes, assets) handed over via secure transfer.
- [ 04 ]A 30-day post-launch window for any small fixes that surface in the wild.
The reason the work is good is that we don’t skip step three. Or four. Or any of them.
